A medium format camera with a hot shoe for
electronic flash that costs under $20.00.
This plastic Chinese made camera measures 140
x 102 x 76 mm and weighs in at 200 grams. The
Holga's inherent flaws such as light leaks,
flaring, lens distortion, soft edges, light
falloff, and plastic optics give the camera
its charm. The Holga is often refered to as
the daughter of the Diana camera, also in my
collaction.
The following is reprinted from the manual /
typed pages that come with the camera.
The Cabbagepatch™ Effect
The unique quality control at the Holga
factory yields cameras that each have their
own special qualities, their own
personalities if you will. Some have slower
shutter speeds, others have unique lens
distortion or light leaks. Serious Holga
users prefer to keep multiple Holgas on hand
so they can pick the right Holga for the
right moment (and it never hurts to have a
back up).
